Logistics
Getting There
Frankfurt is one of the largest cities in Germany. It has a very large airport (FRA) providing many international connections from within and outside of Europe. To travel from the airport to the city, use Germany’s renowned train system. Be sure to purchase a ticket before boarding from one of the kiosks at the airport. Note that there is no specific location where you must use this ticket to board the train, and often you will not show your ticket to anyone. However, the conductors complete random checks and if you do not have a ticket, you must pay a hefty fine.
Getting Around
Frankfurt is a large city. Depending on where you plan to visit, you may be able to cover a lot on foot. For areas that you are unable to access, use taxis or the train if needed.

If visiting for pleasure, try to stay in or around the Old Town (Frankfurt Altstadt) or near the city center (Innenstadt). Both are nice areas to use as your home base.
