Logistics
Getting There
Warsaw is the capital of Poland, and quite sizable city with a population close to 2 million people. There are two airports, Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) and Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI). WAW is the larger and more common airport to travel in and out of when visiting the city. Fortunately, WAW is actually quite close to the city, only about a 20-30 minute drive into the city center making it an easy city to travel in and out of for locals and visitors.
Getting Around
The city is fairly large, but parts of it are quite walkable for those who enjoy exploring cities on foot. Ride sharing services like Uber and Bolt are also very affordable and easy to use to save time when not interested in walking. You’ll see point to point bike rentals and there’s also a tram and buses to leverage. Overall, it’s a fairly easy city to navigate with a variety of options to get around.
Accommodations
For the closest proximity to some tourist hot spots, consider staying in or around the Old Town. This is a nice area to wander through the old streets and colorful buildings. If you’re looking for something a bit out of the Old Town, but still easily accessible, the Westin Warsaw is a nice hotel with great service and easy access to key spots.
