Logistics
Getting There
Bergen has an accessible airport, and visitors can use the Flytoget Bus to travel between the city and the airport. Alternatively, if visiting Oslo as well or interested in seeing the Fjords, arrive or depart by train using the Norway and a Nutshell route. Check out my itinerary page for more information on this.

As Bergen is a small city, it’s easily accessible by foot to explore the area and get around the city.

Other Notes
Duration
A day in Bergen is all you need to see this small city. It’s a perfect start or end point in the Norway and a Nutshell tour, as it allows you the ability to see the small city but also get out and enjoy the Norwegian fjords.
Time of year
The summer time is the best time to visit Bergen. The main reason for this is not only the longer hours of daylight, but also worth knowing there is a lot of rain in Bergen between the months of September until March.
