Sipping Through the City: Discovering London’s Best Wine Bars

There’s something undeniably magical about a good wine bar — the soft clink of glasses, the quiet hum of conversation, and a perfectly poured glass of something special. In a city as diverse and dynamic as London, wine lovers are spoiled for choice. From cozy hidden gems tucked away in cobbled alleyways to sleek, modern spots with panoramic views, London’s wine scene has something for everyone.

The Italians Marylebone

This cute wine bar and shop serves excellent wine and small bites. Stop in for a glass of wine or make an evening out of it with a group of friends. The waitstaff is very friendly and nice atmosphere as the Italians is in a prime Marylebone location.

Casanova & Daughters

Hidden in Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden, this is a cute way to see the area and be central, but away from the crowds

Antidote Wine Bar

Carnaby is always hopping with people. Tucked around a corner, Antidote is a perfect wine bar for an after work drink before heading to dinner while watching the hustle and bustle of London around you

Passione Vino Shop & Bar

Found in east London, Passione doesn’t have a wine list. Instead, explain what you like to the staff and they’ll bring you a few to try, making sure you’re more than content with your pick before they leave you to enjoy

Cepages

Located in Notting Hill, this French wine bar is a hidden gem. The wine bar is on a small side street and has a great atmosphere.

B. Street Deli

Not solely a wine bar, B Street Deli has a variety of offerings including brunch, to go prepared salads, pastries and wine available. In the afternoon and evenings, they make some exquisite charcuterie board platters to complement your glass of wine. Don’t miss this cute spot on Bermondsey street ~ it’s one of my personal favorites

Noble Rot

Both a restaurant and wine bar, Noble Rot shouldn’t be missed. The food menu changes, and they offer a wide variety of wines to choose from. They have three locations, with the Lamb Conduit in Bloomsbury being my personal preference

Bedales of Borough

Located in the heart of Borough market, grab a Saturday afternoon glass of wine here and watch as locals and visitors enjoy a Saturday market day

W.C. Wine and Charcuterie

With quite an odd concept, the WC wine bars are housed in old city public water closets….bathrooms. Don’t worry, they’ve been completely restored and now have wine bar locations in both Bloomsbury and Clapham.

Comptoir Cafe & Wine

La Fromagerie has a few locations. Stop by the cheese shop in Marylebone or Bloomsbury and grab a seat with friends and a glass of wine seating available for nice weather days

The Drop Wine Bar

Found in Coal Drops Yard, another wine bar to add to your list to enjoy on a nice summer evening

Blandford Comptoir

Wine bar and restaurant right off Marylebone High street with friendly staff, good service and great wine and food.

Sager + Wilde

Wine bar in Hackney, great for a pre-dinner drink or afternoon glass of wine and bite to eat

Paulette

Cute french restaurant and wine bar with great options for wine, and especially nice to sit outside on a sunny afternoon in Little Venice

Vinoteca

Serving wine and food, check out one of Vinoteca’s locations

Gordon’s

Thought to be the oldest wine bar in London, Gordon’s is located in the heart of London near covent garden and the theater scene. The inside tables feel as though you’re in a cave, as tables are spread across the cellar

Plume

Wine bar around covent garden ~ also known as Plume wine bar now

The Remedy

Located in Fitzrovia very close to Regent’s park, this wine bar is a great option with a comfortable atmosphere, nice location and a good menu

Humble Grape

With multiple locations across the city, Humble Grape always offers a nice atmosphere and good spot to grab a glsss (or bottle!) or wine

Lady of the Grapes

On a side street in Covent Garden, this little wine bar has a diverse selection of wines, and offers a variety of small bites or bigger entrees to enjoy with your wine.
